MEP Frédérique Reis condemns the explosion of antisemitic hate speech across Europe

May 19, 2021StatementsXavier

MEP Frédérique Ries addressed the European Parliament during a debate on the “EU strategy towards Israel-Palestine”. During her intervention she expressed her concerns on the recent explosion of ant-Jewish hatred across Europe.

“Added to the Middle east tragedy there is another one, an odious reality. The calls for the murder of Jews heard this weekend in Hanover, in Brussels, the violently antisemitic chants in the demonstrations of solidarity with the Palestinians, this Sunday 1km from the European Parliament. The flood of hatred online too, it’s uncontrollable. And here Europe has a role to play too. It is urgent for the European Union to face these criminal arsonists who infest the networks with hatred. Because in our country, online hate, hate that kills, must be over.”
